Author's Note: This is short and I'd send more chapters, but I don't feel
like it right now. And if you noticed, the chapters are named after the
lyrics to "Misty's Song."
Disclaimer: I don't own anything but Skye, Charmie, etc. etc so don't sue.
Over the Horizon

Chapter Three- We won't admit But it's True
The group was more quiet than ever. They walked in the Viridian forest in
silence. AJ and Sandshrew fought for the lead. Ash was definetly leading the
group with Pikachu on his head. Skye was second and bumped AJ when he tried
to get in front of her. Charmie refused to go on her shoulders, like usual
and walked beside her, spitting fire on Sandshrew whenever Skye bumped AJ.
Misty and Brock resumed their usual places, in the pack where they could
watch the domineering trio in front of them.
AJ thought that Skye Dreame was the prettiest and dreamiest girl he had
ever seen. But her pokémon seemed very weak. At least Charmie seemed very
small. AJ still didn't know about the super powers they possesed. He found it
amusing that she thought she could beat HIM, AJ, the undefeated. To keep him
entertained, he shot her a smirk ever time there faces met. Sandshrew,
however, shook off the fire Charmie spat at it.
Ash didn't like AJ being in the group. It was another burden to him; Skye
was enough. He kept on repeating to himself that he was a pokémon master and
they weren't. That didn't make him feel better. And what made it worse was
that it made him very uncomfortable everytime AJ smiled at Skye. He didn't
know why. He didn't like Skye, he liked Misty. But lately, he didn't talk to
Misty much.
Skye was always the indepent one. She didn't like the idea of AJ getting
in front of her. Everytime he did, she pushed him aside, showing him who was
boss. And Charmie made sure that Sandshrew was shown that he wasn't the
leading pokémon. But everytime she went to glare at AJ, he would smirk at her
and that made her smile to herself. He was cute.
Misty wanted to go up and tease Skye everytime she bumped AJ but thought
better of it. She wanted to go up and hold Ash's hand but saw his frown
everytime AJ smiled at Skye. She knew she had nothing to fear but still felt
sad that he wasn't paying much attention to her.
Brock wasn't thinking much of anything. It was the usual "lover's spat"
to him and he had given up on Skye. There were other girls, like Nurse Joy....
AJ had gone too far. When he pushed Skye back when she bumped him, she
got very angry. What made her even more enraged was when Sandshrew finally
had enough of Charmie and gave him a good swipe.
"Okay, Mr. Big Stuff. I challenge you to a pokémon match," Skye glared.
She stopped the whole group with a quick movement of her hand and pushed AJ
back with her index finger.
AJ snickered. "With your weak pokémon? Besides, I don't want to make you
cry with my whip."
This made Skye angrier. She remembered her father saying, "Skye, you
better not cry or else I'll use my whip." So she never cried. So instead she
remarked, "Yeah, well I thought you were too afraid. It just figures."
Now AJ and Skye were nose to nose. "You're on little lady."
"I'll show you little lady!" Skye replied heatedly. "Two pokémon each."
Battle Two- Skye vs. AJ
"I want...Charmie!" Skye said, pointing to a clear path.
"Sandshrew, go!" AJ said.
"Char!"
"Shhrreww!"
"Charmie, fire spin!" Skye commanded.
Charmie drew back and blasted a lot of fire that could have FRIED Ash's
Squirtle to crips.
Sandshrew rolled himself in a ball and spun around, casting the fire
aside.
Skye's eyes widened and then flashed in anger. "Okay, special attack
Charmie! Rousing fire!"
Charmie laughed a "CHAR!" as he clapped his hands in a special attack.
Pikachu gave encouraging "Pika pi"s for Charmie's bravery. Sandshrew just
stood there, not knowing what a Rousing Fire was.
AJ cracked his whip which made Skye wince and fall to her knees. But she
didn't cry out. Instead, she stayed on her knees and grinned as Charmie ran
over to Sandshrew and open its mouth.
"Huh? What's your Charmie doing?" AJ questioned as nothing came out.
Then, Sandshrew spun around and water squirted out of its mouth. Because,
as you know, water is Sandshrew's weakness and the Rousing Fire rouses the
weakness inside.
Skye's eyes flew wide open as Sandshrew calmly shook the water off.
"What? How? Who..."
AJ laughed. "My Sandshrew trained hard to be strong against water. I see
that your Charmie has special pokémon powers, but none will work against
pokémon that are trained hard."
"Be quiet AJ!" Skye screamed, fighting back her tears as he cracked his
whip again. She knew he was right but said nothing. Sandshrew won the fight
as Charmie whimpered back. Even though Charmie could recover, he was scared
stiff.
"Charmie, stand back," Skye ordered. "Okay, Garnet, I want you!" Skye's
special throwing out her pokéball move was stretching her arm way outbehind
her back and throwing the pokéball as she whipped her hand around her waist
and then spun around.
"What's a Garnet?" AJ asked.
"It's her name for her Kadabra," Misty explained. "Each of her pokémon
have a na..." Then, she was hurt when Skye told her to be quiet.
"I shouldn't be TOO hard on your pokémon," AJ decided. "Sandshrew,
return. Go Butterfree!"
"Kadabra!"
"Eeeee!"
Garnet vs. Butterfree
"Garnet, go!"
Garnet wrapped Butterfree in a red light.
"Butterfree, stun spore!"
Garnet whirled Butterfree around in mid-air, (Which had no affect or
didn't frighten it a bit since Butterfrees were natural flyers). The powder
whirled in the sky and didn't fall on Garnet.
"Grrr, Garnet, c'mon!" Skye encounraged.
"Butterfree, sleep powder!"
Garnet received psychic instructions from Skye so that's why she wasn't
saying any of Garnet's next moves aloud. But AJ wasn't affected by this. He
was determined to win and no psychic pokémon were going to stand in his way.
Garnet inflicted some pain into Butterfree, but the Butterfree was strong
and felt none. Although Garnet was psychic, it had no fast reflexes so the
sleep powder immediately took affect.
AJ commanded Butterfree to finish it off and all Garnet could do was
teleport and that's exactly what she did. But Skye's forté was fire, not
psychic pokémon so she lost. She was so mad and threw an empty pokéball on
the ground and it cracked. She kicked it away.
Giving AJ an icy stare, she disappeared in thin air.
"Now how did she do that?" he asked in annoyance. He couldn't gloat, but
Skye read every word.
